Superhumans.

Nietzsche's description on superman stuck me with wonder initially. It was with almost perfection that he described the status of such men of power. The feminists would have an argument on this view because it is super 'men' and not women. That is why I have given the title as 'superhumans' and not just supermen. Nietzsche's idea is that men can attain a status way above the so called ordinary men. This is a very high state indeed but according to his principle these men are born with such qualities. People who are born as 'ordinary' also can attain this status through incessant work. I shall give some of my own example for such human beings. We say Sachin Tendulkar is the god of cricket in India. Indeed he is a god of cricket. Some other examples would be Charlie Chaplin as god of comedy and Marlon Brando as god of acting. But if you take a closer look, there are others too who will fall into this category.

Swami Vivekananda was a very talented person. He too is a god. No living human being can put him inside a framework. Is he just a saint? No, he is much more. Is he just a humanitarian? No. Then what is he? I have deliberately used the present tense to indicate that Swami Vivekananda is immortal. So is Charlie Chaplin. They live inside our hearts. But the most amazing fact about the people who have transgressed their bodies like Swami Vivekananda is that they can come back to earth when they please. According to him, he has done the work which will last for five hundred years and then he retired and his body passed on. But his spirit is still alive in our hearts. This is how they become Super men. To talk about women, Jhansi Ki Rani, is an epitome of such people and also Mother Teresa.

All these people except for Sachin Tendulkar have passed on but they are with us in spirit even now. This gives them that elevated status among us, humans. Swami Vivekananda was a complete human being. The things that he did during his lifetime is unbelievable. We now hear stories about him which are beyond our comprehension. We, the humans are blessed not sinned to have gotten a human life. Make the most of it while you are alive as the saying goes "make hay while the sun shines". Discover your self and be proud of who you are.

Regards!
