The Stream of Life

The journey that each and every one of us has to take is entwined. It can be summed up using a simple but powerful analogy. It is like a twig that floats on top of a stream. If you observe its movement, you can find that there are two ways in which it moves, nonetheless, forward. Sometimes, it follows a circular movement and other times it follows a straight movement. Our whole life is like this, constantly moving forward to that one destination. I am not referring to death here and I am certainly not talking about a single lifespan. The destination is that of ultimate freedom. This may or may not be attained in a single life. But each one of us is sure to reach that stage one day or the other. Ironically, the soul is already of that nature. Different layers have to be penetrated before you get to the soul. The time when you become ignorant is the time we take a circular motion. We become slaves to our own mind and hence forget the sole purpose of this life until a revelation hits...

The Dilemma

Is this the end or the beginning? The road to light ahead And the road to life behind Both gleaming before me. I see the light but Life sees me Caught between two worlds, I am frozen and petrified Am I a fool to ask? Immortality or love? In the abyss of my heart, I seek your hand; The hand of god or The hand of my lady love?

Nature and The Self

The self is made up of three gunas, they are sattva, rajas and tamas. The permutation and combination of these three gunas give rise to the character of a person. The nature and the self are two different things altogether but they are deeply interconnected and interlinked. There is an unbreakable connection between the world and your self. For the spiritual aspirants this is the starting level where they begin to believe in a superpower because of this connection. Then he/she will have to go look for a guru who will explain these phenomena to him/her if they become a disciple. One peculiar thing about the Guru-shishya relationship is that the guru does not have a shishya but a shishya always has a guru. This has to be like this in order for the Vedanta knowledge to shine in the disciple. This connection is based on your character which is shaped by the three gunas. But this nature is different from the Purusha. The Purusha is that one which does not have a sensory existence. In th...

The imitation Game

Riding up the layers and riding down them, over and over again till we find the proper balance needed to place yourself in this big wide world. The whole world is just a conglomeration of different ideas put together. All is nothing but an imitation game. To seek the truth out of this is the success at the end of this game. The worlds die. Many would have shat on top of your heads and you may carry them with you as your priced possessions, but the truth is far, far beyond what the normal eyes can see or feel. To articulate what this truth might be is an impossible task. Not just for me but for the whole of human kind. God's role in this is to simply provide you with subtle details that might help you on your way. Beyond that even the god is helpless. He/she is like a teacher who can guide you along your way, only to show you the path. To tread along you must have at most patience. Tools that may help you are non attachment and selfishness. By selfish, I do not imply the normal mea...

Homage to the Devil

Praise the Devil, Praise the Lord Both, two sides of the same coin. If one is praised and the other Is pelted with stones, Who is to say that He will save Us from misery when He is to be Feared! Light a lamp, offer food For the righteous Devil! He may grant you the wishes Never to be true in the light Of that all merciful Lord. The mind that prays cannot Subdue the mind that hurts. Is there a duel between them? The Devil and the Lord? This incongruity shall never Seem to pass this wretched world What has become of man? Is he an offspring? Of the Devil and the Lord? When shall he learn the obvious? Both are inevitable for mankind Both exist buried deep within  One's mind The choice is left to us to be the Devil or the Lord. Hail the mankind.

Mind Service

Take out my mind, What all comes out? Look, there I am, Riding a bicycle Feeding on my mother's breasts I cannot tell you all this Oh wait, if not you, then who? I gave it to my master He will Cleanse it for me, I thought He gazed at it For a minute or two And said, my friend its overdue! Like a churning river it flowed, In and out of this tomb. "Give me a break", I pleaded. Once it starts, there's no stopping I looked there and I looked here Nowhere I found the poison To kill this beastly dragon, Spitting hell fire on all. I shut me up in my mind I let it loose like an hind Endless seas for it to go, Before it reaches the shore The creator rests in peace Deep within the limitless seas I see it now, but now its gone! In my heart where it was born.

Keen Whispers

In the sweet darkness of the night Like a jasmine you bloom into my sight In your scorpion tails that sting me Your ego is my passion Why fritter away thy ingenious soul? This darkness is transient My words, powerless for thine temper Let this be an impetuous tone Arise my love, you know not What lies beneath that cold scoff Truth is sweet to behold My heart beckons the best in You Beneath the mask of your clan I see a stupendous child Yearning for freedom that comes With the light of my eyes Marks of woe shall never prevail In your world of bright skies Let me be the brightest rainbow To ever shine in your world of splendor.
